Well hello there!

I created Mom with a Mic because, on my own journey through motherhood, I kept wishing there was a one-stop shop for everything — from finances with a new baby (Which 529 plan is best? Should I even open one, or would a brokerage account make more sense?), to breastfeeding (WHY is this so hard?! And what’s with the cult-like guilt around formula?), to fitness (Seriously… why did I feel nowhere near ready to work out after being “cleared” at my 6-week checkup?).

And then there’s the endless stream of random stuff I was frantically Googling it at 2 a.m.

But every time I searched, I landed on blogs aimed at stay-at-home moms with a very traditional tone.

Spoiler: I’m not traditional.
I believe in human rights.
I’m not religious.
I will not have makeup on and dinner ready every night at the same time – bonus points if I even showered that day!
Oh, and don’t get me started on the so-called “quick recipes” with 20+ ingredients and a prep time that eats your entire evening.

All that to say — this blog is different.
If you’re looking for a traditional mom blog, this probably isn’t the place for you.
But if you’re craving raw honesty, uncomfortable truths, and a little (okay, a lot of) sarcasm along the way… welcome to the beautiful chaos and congrat-u-fucking-lations on becoming a mama! If no one has told you today, I guarantee you are crushing the role of mom way more than you think you are.
